MANILA, Philippines — Integrated logistics and transportation provider 2GO Group Inc. has come up with a new service innovation that seeks to eliminate inefficiencies in supply chains.
Called 2GO Connect, the service offers fast, reliable, and direct service to modern trade points of sales nationwide, according to the logistics giant owned by SM Investments Corp. and Udenna Corp.
2GO said the service is an attractive option for businesses since it enables inventories to be delivered straight to the malls and the modern trade, bypassing multiple handling points.
With 2GO Connect, it said cost of transportation is significantly reduced, and the product quality is safeguarded.
“We integrate our broad multimodal transportation services to enable fast, reliable, and direct service to replenish goods at the malls, as the economy gradually reopens in 2021,” 2GO chief operating officer Waldo Basilla said.
“This gives customers from the Visayas and Mindanao regions access to the same catalogues available in Metro Manila, almost at the same time that it is launched,” he said.
Basilla said 2GO Connect leverages off its unique RoPax service and its expansive landside network to deliver to core mall destinations such as Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Bacolod four times weekly.
“Cargoes are consolidated at the origin, and those bound for the same destination are grouped in a container and created a train-like schedule for regular deliveries straight to the malls,” he said.
The new supply chain solution also allows businesses the flexibility to replenish stocks, which is driven by consumer demands and changing market conditions.
2GO expects growth from the new service as the economy regenerates post-pandemic.
“2GO is confident that with our continuous innovation, we will not only help businesses meet their needs, but more importantly, connect them to the ultimate consumer in a timely manner,” Basilla said.
The company offers multimodal transportation, warehousing and inventory management, distribution, special containers, and project logistics as well as e-commerce logistics, including last-mile deliveries, and express courier deliveries.
It has five business units composed of 2GO Sea Solutions, 2GO Special Containers, 2GO Logistics, 2GO Distribution, and 2GO Express.
