CALOOCAN CITY, March 24 (PIA) — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has recieved an additional 100 thermal scanners courtesy of mall giant SM Supermalls for use in its checkpoints amid the enhanced community quarantine against COVID-19.
Mr. Almus J. Alabe, Senior Assistant Vice President, Customer Relations Service, Shopping Center Management Corporation lended the scanners to the police force in a simple ceremony where NCRPO Chief PMGen. Debold Sinas received the said items.
“The thermal scanners will be issued to differenct Districts to aid out police force in implementing inspections,” Sinas said after graciously thanking SM for the assistance.
“Our thermal scanners are now being used by the NCRPO for their inspection areas. #TogetherAtSM, let’s rise and help one another in this fight against COVID-19. We will rise as one. #HealPH,” SM, for its part posted on Facebook.
To recall, the NCRPO has earlier appealed for more thermal scanners as the 56 chokepoints scattered around Metro Manila need such device to properly screen people going in and out of the country’s capital.
“Ang counterpart kasi ng DOH sa local is city health officer … baka meron sila doon, pakiusapan na puwede manghiram,” Sinas said in an earlier interview.
NCRPO is also actively looking for suppliers who can provide for thermal scanners at affordable prices.
“We are looking for suppliers para bibili kami. Meron na kaming kinausap, mataas pa yun price ire-renegotiate namin,” he said. (PIA NCR)
